This group of traveller will usually spend the majority of his/her time ‘socialising’ in different public houses and then be too hung over the following day to actually explore the new city or country they are in. 2) Roaming HippyThe follower of his/her heart. The ‘roaming hippy’ traveller would be someone who has no real plan or destination in mind but is just happy to wander and let his/her feet find the way. Described as free spirits and usually sporting unusual haircuts and a quirky dress sense, the roaming hippy was probably once a focused career driven employee but grew tired of the social expectation to conform to what is ‘normal'. 3) Bank of DadThe loathsome group of travellers we secretly wish we could be. To have a trip without financial barriers and endless supply of cash? Who wouldn’t want that! Sadly, the vast majority of us have to save for months sometimes years to be able to afford such life changing travel, which is why we are a little jealous of individuals who live off the bank of DAD. However, there is the quote ‘if travelling was free, I’d never come home’ bear this in mind rich Dads of the world. Often found - topping up their tan by the pool or shopping. | |
4) First TimersAn exciting group of people whose enthusiasm oozes out of them as, recently put out of their comfort zone, they try to find their way in the world of travelling. First time travellers are usually the most eager of people, always up at the crack of dawn with a hectic schedule of trips and tours for the day ahead, but more commonly the most gullible. Too keen to trust the first person who smiles and offers them a good deal or too blaze about their drinks when out. Often found – In the nearest city tour. | |
5) The Adrenalin JunkieAh, the people who crave a sense of adventure. Looking to do/see anything that will give them a thrill! Be it stroking a tiger, climbing an ice wall or simply just hurling oneself out of a plane with the hope that the parachute doesn’t fail! These crazy creatures will undoubtedly have the most bonkers stories to tell you, but all at a cost. The adrenaline junkie traveller will usually spend a lot more on daring excursions because the higher the risk, the higher the cost! Often found – at the closet outdoor pursuits place. | |
6) The RunawayPerhaps the most intriguing of all types of traveller the runaway traveller is a person or persons simply compelled to leave their home land. Reasons ranging from a messy breakup to a breakdown in career or simply just a sense of boredom with their current life. These perplexing individuals are under the illusion ‘out of sight out of mind’ and that their problems will simply disappear if they are not in that particular environment. Sadly,this is not the case and each runaway traveller will eventually have to return to the heart of the problem they tried to escape. Often found – telling someone that they are looking to find themselves. |
