What is tenants' liability insurance?

Tenants' liability insurance covers your landlords property that your tenancy agreement says you are responsible for. It can help protect your deposit if you accidently damage your fixtures, fittings or furniture.

Accidental damage can range from things like a stained carpet to a broken window. Tenants' liability polices tend to exclude cover for damage to the buildings or events such as floods as these would be covered by the landlords buildings insurance. The policy would not cover for wear and tear, or damaged caused deliberately.

Who needs tenants' liability insurance?

Tenants' liability cover is for renters/tenants. It's common that letting agents and landlords ask/recommend their tenants have this type of insurance.

Our Standalone product is suitable for tenants and renters who do not have a lot of possession and just want to protect their security deposit or have been advised by there estate agent, letting agent or landlord to have this cover.
