University Check List

As students head to university, deciding what to bring can be a battle.

The days and weeks before heading off to University can lead to a frenzied of shopping as you may panic buy items without considering what you really need as you dash from shop to shop to get all the necessary bits. Food, sheets, stationary, technology and homeware are all on the list, and deciding what to buy can be as tough as deciding which course you want.

Whether your the student is living in purposes built student accommodation (halls of residence, private or university) or in a shared house or flat with there friends, there are a basic items they'll likely need to bring along.

Hi-tech needs

One of the biggest purchase for students will be a portable computer (laptop, tablet or iPad). Get one that is lightweight is a must for travelling to or from university and look for one with plenty of storage. It might also be worthwhile investing in a good headset in case there is a return to online classes.

Basics

Students will always need plenty or pens and pads as they make notes in lectures. For the organised student you make also look to a whiteboard to keep on top of assignment dates or attach one to your fridge to create a cleaning rota with your housemates.

Kitchen

This maybe the first time that they have had to cook for themselves and I image it is not a place they picture themselves spending a lot of time so, making sure they have a kettle, toaster, sandwich maker and/or microwave cooker might not just help them but ease a parents mind that they will be ok.
