Hello, it’s great to be introduced! We’re Cover4Insurance, and we’re here to help the WIWIKAU Community. We offer specialist student contents insurance, designed around student lifestyles, rather than being a standard contents insurance policy re-branded as a student content product.
Our product has the following benefits as standard:
No specific lock requirements on your bedroom door.
Cover for “Walk in Theft” basically there doesn't need to be a physical break-in to the property for cover to be in place. So, say, somebody comes back with one of your house/flat mates walks into your room and steals an item, then you are covered provided you report this to the police.
Covered in communal areas – Items are covered anywhere within the property not just in your individual room – for example if your TV or Games console is in the communal area in your shared house it is still covered.
Low standard claims excess of £10.
No age limit on your mobile phone or computer equipment – meaning that we can insure these items no matter what their age. Other insurers may only cover items if they are under 3 years old some insures have even been known to only offer cover if less than 6 months old at the time of taking out the insurance.
Student Contents Insurance
If your son or daughter is off to university in September, then they have probably been interested in getting all their stuff for university and taken you to IKEA, Dunelm, and such places to kit out their new pad and started preparing for you’re a new life as a university student. One thing for sure they have not thought about yet is getting insurance.
What Is Student Contents Insurance?
Contents insurance is a type of policy which protects the stuff that you own; these are your personal items from your clothes to your laptops and mobile phone. Cover4Insurance Student Contents Insurance is designed for all students in rented accommodation from halls of residence (university or private) to private rented properties including house and flat shares.
Please note: As a renter you do not need to have homeowner's insurance, often referred to as home insurance. This is for the structure of the house or flat and is your Student's responsibility.
Do I Need Contents Insurance As A Student?
As with most insurance, it’s completely up to you if you want to cover yourself.
You should think about the cost of replacing all your items if the worse should happen the cost of replacing all the items you have accumulated over time adds up such as your phone, clothes, laptop, headphones, games console and many more.
If having to replace your favourite items does not sound like a promising idea to you or your bank balance, you may want to take out insurance to make sure that if anything did happen, you’re covered
One thing you should check before buying contents insurance as a student is if you’re covered on your parents’ home insurance policy as some will provide limited cover for a student in a hall of residence. There may be restrictions such as forced entry and only cover in your individual room.
I Don’t Need To Cover All My Contents, I Only Wish To Cover My Most Valuable Items
